Things to Do: I love spending time with family and reading a good book! I'm currently working on my green thumb.

My name is Alena Clancey and I am a third grade teacher at Barbara Harvey Elementary.  Before moving to Harvey Elementary I worked at Virgil Mills Elementary for four years teaching both third and fourth grade, Bashaw Elementary and Bayshore Elementary teaching grades three through five.

A little bit more about me...
I graduated from the University of South Florida in 2008, and finished my masters in Curriculum and Instruction in 2011, also at USF.  Go Bulls! I was born and raised in Bradenton, and love the fact that I can drive just a few minutes to the beach, or be at home in the woods, out east. Although, I rarely find that I have time to go to the beach.
My husband, Thomas, and I will be celebrating our anniversary this summer.  We have a spunky seven year old and a feisty two year old!  Mason, our seven year old, will be a 2nd grade Harvey Shark. He is so pumped and I have to say I'm pretty exited to be starting this new chapter with him!

Much like my hope for our sons' future teachers, my goal for each student that enters my room is to feel loved while on the journey to the very best version of themselves, both academically and personally.

I invite you to keep exploring our website, and get in touch with any questions you may have!

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
